As a Gandhi Fellow and working with the NITI Aayog, I’ve gained significant experience with various aspects of society. One major experience has been the lack of awareness among the general public regarding voting. It’s not that they are unaware of voting; they know about it, but they feel their vote won’t make a difference. They’re only interested in benefiting from schemes without realizing the value of their vote, which can make or break a government.

India is the world’s largest democracy, and we take pride in our democratic principles. Governments chosen through India’s democratic processes are respected worldwide. Every citizen has the right to choose their representatives, and voting is conducted accordingly. Despite these golden opportunities, it’s disheartening when citizens don’t exercise their right to vote. Therefore, it’s essential for everyone to cast their vote and choose the right candidate who can lead India forward. Remember, each vote you cast strengthens India’s democracy.

Various programs are being conducted by social organizations and the administration through plays, meetings, etc., to encourage voting. This initiative by the administration and social organizations is commendable
